I am a faculty member at Max Planck Institute for Software Systems. I lead the Programming Languages and Systems Group. Previously, I was an assistant professor at the University of Chicago and the Toyota Technological Institute. I received my Ph.D. at Carnegie Mellon University's Department of Computer Science.

My research interests are broad and include most aspects of programming languages and systems, especially those that overlap with algorithms and parallelism. More broadly, I am interested in dynamic problems where data and computations interact in complex ways. For more information, please visit the site for our research group.
